We currently have products that basically integrate the reports and the app users just view the reports. It wont make much sense for all the app users to purchase pro license as all they do is view the reports when in the app.

This can be done by hosting the content in a Power BI Premium capacity

RE: Ability to view shared reports/dashboards with free license

I work at a company with about 300 employees. We have O365 and have built a lot of reports in Power BI. Since we have a lot of Sales people who only need access to the reports like once a week. We also have some people who only need to look at the reports once per month or even once per quarter. It feels absurd that we should pay $10 per month per user for this purpose.

Maybe there could be different levels of PRO? I mean one for developers ($50?) and another for people who only need to view the reports ($2?)?

Very disappointed with the current payment structure!

does anybody know if MSFT has any feedback in terms of TRUE "FREE" reader license? most of my users are just read only consumer, having to pay pro license doesn't make sense, definitely impact adoption considering premium is way too pricy

Same as other comments I see here : It's completely absurd that people who would like to just consult my reports would have to pay for it. non sense....

pretty much everything every other comment here is saying. This is absurd that I cannot share live visuals with Free licenses.

Please add the ability to share reports with free users within the organization, it is absurd to pay 10$ for just viewing the report.

My managers just want to see the reports I have published, why not allow pro users to share a report via Teams and SharePoint with out using the embedded code.

RE: Ability to view shared reports/dashboards with free license

I'm very disappointed that users need Pro licenses to view any content. I was hoping to have a dashboard displayed in a SharePoint page but expecting a charity to pay for 300 Pro licenses every month just so users can see useful performance data is ridiculous. I can't find any way to securely share dashboards internally without paying through the nose, so we won't be using PowerBI at all now and will be looking at alternative solutions. It's a shame, because we are committed to O365 and are currently commissioning a Dynamics based suite of line-of-business applications, but there's no way we can afford to use PowerBI with any of that.

I agree you shouldn't have to have an expensive Office 365 Tenant before being able to add a Premium sharing Node. Also, for those smaller organizations, a more price sensitive solution is needed for low head counts.

Agree with the other users here. I cannot see the logic in requiring individuals to pay in order to only view content. We will be likely dropping the implementation that took the better part of a year because of the inability to share the content with larger audiences without it being cost prohibitive. Essentially a huge waste of time.
