My way: In "sentiment color", paint "white" for "total value". So we can ignore it (So weird when we can not hide "total value").

Waterfall chart isn't useful without ability to remove the total. Showing a time series.

Yes, please remove the total bar or provide an option to keep it or remove it.

color total line to white [which match background of visual] would give us feel of removal of Total line. This is just a workaround we could apply until Microsoft provide us facility to remove Total and Other from visual as per our need.

The option to remove the Total from the Waterfall Chart allow the user to not get confused.
Or the other option can be that you take the Cluster Column chart and allow to get negative values in red, positives green because the conditional section that you have in Data color is not allowing to make this.
It is ironic that Tableau allow to show negative values in red, and positives green.
