Needs VotesPlease provide a way to enable/disable Subtotals for columns for matrix visualization

As in Excel, it would be nice to be able to add or remove subtotals by column for Matrix Visualization instead of having either totals for all columns or none.

Can power BI automatically disable column subtotal when only one column left?
RE: Please provide a way to enable/disable Subtotals for columns for matrix visualization
Sometimes the grand total is inappropriate to visualize. Example: Cost per unit ACTUAL and Cost per unit PLAN. You will want to show these together in the same chart and have a subtotal by Business unit... Having a grand total of both of them blended together is an absolute garbage metric and totally confuses the user.

Totally Agreed. There should be separate control over Subtotal and Grand Total

I hate you Power BI!
RE: Please provide a way to enable/disable Subtotals for columns for matrix visualization
Agreed. Please provide more control over which columns to display row totals.
RE: Please provide a way to enable/disable Subtotals for columns for matrix visualization
I agree. Some columns need to be totaled and others do not. Please allow totals to be turned on/off in each column.
RE: Please provide a way to enable/disable Subtotals for columns for matrix visualization
Agreed! I would love to be able to turn off subtotals for certain columns, but keep subtotals on others.
Example: A matrix of Vendors which expand down to Purchase Orders, with columns that show data for each PO (project number, description, PO date, number of POs, and PO Amount).
I want to see the subtotal on the Vendor rows for total # of POs and total PO amounts, but it makes no sense to see a "sum" of project numbers, or the "first" or "count" of PO date. Even when I select "don't summarize" on those fields, it still tries to give a subtotal.

The ability to turn on / off subtotals by group is present in Power BI. Turn on Per Row Level then you will be able to toggle on / off subtotals for each matrix group.

We've found a work around to get around this problem so the total is still there but you can't see it!
I add the subtotals line so everything is there....including the subtotals I don't want to see.
Then using the formatting feature 'Field Formating' I colour the font for the subtotals I don't want to see the same as the background.
Do this by selecting the column you want to change, turn off apply to values and turn on apply to total, then change the font colour to white. This changes only the subtotals for the selected column.
This leaves the subtotals I want to see visible and the ones I don't you cant see as they blend into the background.

Would really love the option to turn off subtotal for certain columns, especially my text columns. My reports do not make sense if I choose first, last, or count.
