I have posted this question to StackOverflow and appears that a short name for Power Query Formula Language that is not 'M' does not exist.

Power Query Formula Language is too long

M is too short

We have discussed this on Twitter and there are good ideas. Thought I would post it here to make it official :)

The new name should be PQL pronounced peequel

Above all, I prefer a choice of a short moniker that is likely to get widest adoption. My 1st choice is M^.
2nd is PQL

Agreed, PLQ is much better name than “M”.

Please call it PQL pronounced Peequel, like SQL pronounced Seequel

Also doesn't help that the same language is searchable as Power Query, or Power BI. A uniform name would really help align all the documentation out there!

Wouldn't it just be PQFL like every other language?
