The March 2018 update introduced visual header control at the report level.

Since this is currently an 'all-or-nothing' feature, please evolve this so we can control visual headers on a per visual basis.

We completed this as part of our July release! If you haven't use the new header yet, make sure to turn it on for your existing reports and try out all the new features. You can also read about it in our July blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-2018-feature-summary/#visualHeader

Hi Amanda! I'm having a bug with this which I hope will be resolved with this that I wanted to bring to your attention. Posted details here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Column-header-name-shrinking/idi-p/437261#M26944

Great news that this is being worked on. What is needed is granular control for each header and what is it is not included and the option to turn it off. A report level control to turn some parts off all visuals such as export would also be great.

This will allow us to condense visual slicers as we have reports which have a large number of slicers so any options to retain canvas real estate would be good

It would be very useful if user has control to hide\show the drilldown header bar.
Else it can be removed completely and the header functionality can be added to the format options.

Moreover, it would be good if this feature works on the iOS app. I want to use Power BI for mobile reports but the current usability is poor due to features like the visual header.

I hope that Microsoft allows us to actually remove the header rather than just hide it visually. Currently even if 'hidden' you still have the 25px of dead space at the top of any report. Any functionality that is present in the header can be added to the right-click menu (same as drill down, show data, etc.).

Drill down functionality should be a separate control. I don't always want to turn off both as part of the header.

RE: Allow visual header control per visual

One of the most importent features for making the Visualization ok. The headers are in many cases NOT useful but only in the way. A Line or drawing doesn't need a header!!!
PLEASE fix this to make the Users happy.

This would be a great addition. This sort of granular control over if a header is displayed and what parts of the header are shown would give far better control over the way a report is put together.

The header takes up a lot of space. Would be good if the feature gets implemented in right-click and remove the header.
