How sexy the data looks is sometimes more important than how accurate it is!
I love a light grey/dark grey colour scheme as much as the next person, but it be great to be able to brand the dashboard with the organisation colours/background watermark/logos etc. Maybe offer an option to modify the default CSS used - similar to how blogging sites like blogger allow you to change your page layouts/colours with a simple admin gui or completely change it by rewriting the CSS

Hey everyone - I'm excited to share that we shipped dashboard theming this week: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/announcing-dashboard-theming-in-the-power-bi-service/. Give it a try and let us know if you have any feedback! Well, with Power BI, not only keep your data accurate but you can also now make it look - as Jakub originally stated in this idea - sexy. :)

RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
This would be super indeed!
RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
As this is listed as "started" - it would be ideal to have more than one theme that you could select from. Perhaps you'd have a theme focused on products and a different one focused on customers and a third focused on performance or something. Then you could select the theme and have the color scheme & defaults import automatically.

For More Theme-ing help you can visit this page that has a structured way of loading custom themes into PowerBI Desktop.

RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
I'd love to see this implemented. We are using backgrounds and themes to produce some branded reports, but the transition from dashboard to report is jarring, because of the sudden change of style. Being able to add a background to a PowerBI report would create a seamless transition between the two and allow customisation away from the out of the box styles.
RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
The original post was missed. Much like the author, we need the ability to change dashboard tile colors for both text and backgrounds. The "Started" Microsoft update is referring to report theming NOT dashboard theming. Can we please get an update on dashboard theming?
RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
Cool preview so far. However, for those less technical, there should be a front end to create themes without having to modify and import JSON files.
RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
Almost 3 years under review? Could you perhaps elaborate on the key considerations which have led to a 35-month+ decision cycle?
This is disheartening and yet another very, very basic omission. These are all stacking up and slowly eroding the usability of the application.
I have a report with a dark background and light text, and pinning the visuals onto a white dashboard means that the data is not visible. So I now have to either redesign the colour scheme (which goes against our company branding - and also obviates the time I've spent to date getting it on-brand) or just pin as a live page, which isn't really favourable as I just want headline figures and not the slicers et al.
So many silly little things (add 'no duration data type' to this list) missing that make me look bad and consequently lead to the board questioning the validity of this tool if it fails to handle such basic requirements as 'dashboard without a white background'.
Very, very poor show. It's all well and good adding extensive functionality with each release, but it's these elementary inclusions that are stark in their absence - and could lead to being dealbreakers.

This is very basic, and a must have feature.
RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
Retaining color scheme in dashboard tile is an essential feature. Please include it in upcoming releases on priority.
RE: Custom branding/colour scheme of dashboard (custom css?)
I kind of just wish Microsoft used a more contrasting color palette for the visualizations/filters area that I could actually read without squinting (I don't need glasses). grey on grey is not exactly the ergonomic color scheme of choice these days.
