The text box included in Power BI has very limited formatting options. The following items would make the text box more useful:
-Bullet/Numbering
-Spell Check
-Strikethrough
-Subscript
-Superscript
-More Fonts
The text box also tends to revert back to the default font randomly and the highlighting behavior is awkward. While the text box is not an advanced feature it should have basic functionality and should be useful.

RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
agreed.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
HTML type tagging would be nice as well.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
The line spacing and text formatting in general is terrible in Power BI at the moment. I would love to see a more enhanced version of the text formatting options and the ability to add custom fonts too!
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
Current line spacing is a mess. If one needs a text box in a confined space each line is separated by a mass of whitespace.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
Not only are the options limited, but they are not very useful.
Too much white space & padding. No way to copy/paste text widgets.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
Text boxes as they stand are not useful due to too few formatting options. Basic text editing formatting is needed.
An example set of what I would expect to see in text boxes can be found in any of the other office applications when inserting a text box.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
Line spacing needs to be fixed. Looks horrible when changing font size.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
I want to select multiple text box and want to change a font or font color. But when I select multiple text boxes PowerBi is opening multiple formatting bar and I have to select same font for each formatting bar which is very time consuming. If have 20 text boxes which needs same formatting then powerbi should let me select multiple text box and only one foramting bar and not 20 at the same time.
This seems to very basic thing that is not implemented yet.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
Agreed; Text boxes should share many of the same formatting options as typing an email.
In addition, you should be able to apply shadows/effects to items like you can in other MS Products.
I also agree that the selecting/highlighting in a text box is very awkward and frustrating at times.
RE: Expanded formatting options in text boxes
if you change a font then switch tabs, switch back the font has gone back to the default!
