Seems like I can't pin a chart from another persons shared dashboard to my new personal dashboard. IT would be nice to be able to use their report on my own personal version of the dashboard.

Great idea. We have the concept of 'favorites' in the mobile iOS app, which we could bring into the dashboards with a personal dashboard too.

Without this feature, this cannot be used as Executive dashboard. Executives needs a customized dashboard where they can have only those food that they require. (No jargons prepared by others). Please allow pinning from dashboard tile to dashboard tile or form report to own dashboard.

It would be great if you can pin a visual from a report from a content pack to your personal dashboard!

Please share an update. We really need pinning from read-only content!

RE: Allow pinning of a shared dashboard's reports to a new personal dashboard

Hi Power BI team. Just to ensure that this idea is not misunderstood, this is what we require:

"The capability to pin tiles from shared dashboards onto any dashboard we desire (in any workspace) as long as the original dashboard owner allowed us to share the content in the first place. Allowing this feature cross tenancy/organisation would be the ultimate goal"

This is required if PowerBI wants to appeal to CEO's and senior management. Senior managers do not want access to 20 dashboards. They have no time to hunt for information.

They want to access a dashboard with ONLY the tiles they need to make strategic decisions. These tiles will obviously come from dashboards owned by various other departments. Senior managers do not want clutter. They want simplicity, and IMMEDIATE access to their key KPI's.

Power BI has been great appealing to the masses and low level management. Power BI is still only a proof of concept for many companies and has yet to be officially adopted. However, it's now time to give senior management what they want.

I agree with Robbie. It comes across as a push to paid subscriptions.
Sharing is superficial because users receiving the shared dashboard have to bookmark the url shared in the email.

The Error message when trying to do this is:

"Power BI currently doesn't support pinning of read-only content (reports or dashboards). We plan to add this support in the future."

Is there a timescale on this plan? At the minute, it feels a bit like a crude way to push users toward Power BI licenses!
