RE: field of "duration" type
yes yes YES. Several local companies in the billons of dollars range would like to see KPI visuals that plot time quicker and easier. There is a tremendous of historical and trend tracking done by corporate America.
Microsoft please tag this one a must have at some point.

...quick add for others who see this thread. You can use the software to plot the same trends using a time to decimal conversion. Convert the time to Military format then divide it up by 60 depending on hours or minutes and you can do a halfway decent KPI plot on the Y axis using the time in decimal format. For example 8:45 PM would be 20:45 military time and 20.75 in decimal. .75= 3/4 hour if I have the right conversion formula based on posts out there

RE: field of "duration" type
what's the status here? is there a workaround for this pls? I have duration in d.hh:mm:ss in my query editor but can't use this data in my reports? have to make a sum of this data in my reports...
RE: field of "duration" type
support for mm:ss on chart Y axis is a must! please!
RE: field of "duration" type
This type of field is really necessary for cases such as Call Center and Help Desks and Service Desks to deal with duration of calls and attentions, many times it is necessary to work with average and more calculations, for which you have to extend fields and use a lot of extra for this.
And even if you set the field as duration in the Query Editor window, it is useless when you try to use it in the Reports Window

Power Bi team, this kind of data type is a must have for telehealth call centres... my bosses would like to have an average of this in 00:00:00 format. And in addition to this, they would like to have conditional formatting as well to spot call handling time that is above the threshold. it would be really useful having this as a data type and can be conditonally formatted with colors.
