I created an Excel workbook with an XML feed from A.W.rd.A.Day: http://wordsmith.org/awad/rss1.xml. I created a table in PV; text in the description of the word is cut off. I upload to PBI and create a tile. Text in the tile is also cut off. Not cool!

In the May release of Power BI Desktop, we launched the preview of the new table visual. Both the new table and new matrix visuals have support for word wrap in cells. To learn more about the new table visual, check out this blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/

Amanda, it has been over 3 weeks since your update. We need an ETA on when this will be delivered in its entirety. Enterprise Power BI deals are hanging in the balance..no visibility to a certain date - for as long as this request has been out there - will kill deals. We are on the same team - so pass us the ball for a scoring opportunity :)

Not being able to word-wrap text in a table column is killing my adoption rate of executive dashboards!

Exporting to Excel from tables/matrices is a big deal for several of my clients. Currently, the data has carriage returns in description fields. The first line of the description field gets exported, but everything else is lost. Power BI is not being considered a viable solution for these clients based on this one deficiency.

This should be the HIGHEST priority item you look at.

Amanda, thank you for giving MSFT first reply and response on this since 2014. I really hope you and Nick Caldwell, the other senior executives, are making this one of the highest priorities to fix/reslove fully. We are all huge fans of what MSFT is doing with Power BI - this is table stakes, basic functionality - that because Power BI can not do it - all the other powerful capabiities you have are totally muted. Fortune 500 prospects, when they learn of this limitation, are walking away from truly makine Power BI an enterprise standard, because the dashboards can not be consumed in a digestible manner - they are sticking with your competitors (Tableau, QlikView etc) as this shows to them Power BI is not quite ready for Prime-time, if it can not do this basic need - how can it handle the advance stuff is what is left in their mind, these organizations are some of MSFT's most strategic accounts. We DO NOT want this to happen. To that end, we hope MSFT will respond with fervor and aggressiveness to take this major objection off the table - across cards, tables, matrices, dashboard and reports etc.

Agree, just trying to create a visualisation to look at data on plant community types for biodiversity, and lack of word wrap is a show stopper.

We really need word wrap. It looks horrible otherwise. The entire point of making this reporting tool is to beautify and get the end users to consume them. End users don't typically consume hard to read reports.
