    Please Bring back "Test as role" in Power BI Service

    It is imperative that the ability to "Test as role" be restored within the Power BI web service.

    Previously, there was a blue bar that popped up on the top of the Power BI web service that allowed you to view a dashboard or report as a different user. This could be accessed by going to Datasets > Security > Row Level Security > Test as role. This was extremely important for testing RLS security role membership and to ensure that the roles themselves were operating as expected.

    Many organizations need this functionality for training, demos, and testing. Please return this functionality ASAP.

    Test as role exists today for content creators to review RLS features in both Desktop and Service.

    There's no way to test in a desktop report connected to a live dataset. And there's no way to test online. This is a massive use gap making row level security very difficult to administer. I have to cajole a half dozen users into spending time in testing every time I try and tweak a security change. What a mess!

    I would also like to see this feature when using SSAS to run the tabular model and power bi in the workspace for visualization. Was "test as role" in this scenario ever possible? It should be!

    This is really poor. When you have multiple reports hanging off one dataset that has restriction rules. This makes it impossible to Test and really dificult even to develop the reports

    Any update or word on this? It's such a practical function necessary for testing the integrity of our security on our reports.

    Was always nice to test with this. This feature was also nice as a manager to see just one person's data while you are review their performance.

    I think you can test RLS again? Press the three dots to the right of the role and you find the feature.

    I'd argue we even need to be able to access a report as if you are a person...a way to "impersonate" a specific person that has access to a report.
