Export a report directly in Excel (not only via csv file)
Administrator on 16 Jun 2017 23:49:13
Exporting to Excel from Power BI is supported. You have two options for exporting your data to Excel: * Once you publish to the Power BI service, you can export your data to Excel by clicking on the ... button for any visual. See more info here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-export-data/ * You can use the Analyze in Excel feature to connect directly to your model in Excel: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-service-analyze-in-excel/

RE: export excel
NOT SOLVED at all.
Excel export should get an excel with the visible information, not the way to get it
RE: export excel
It would be helpful if you could select data from the view you are in, to copy into a spreadsheet. When you choose export, it exports all of the underlying data that makes it unwieldy to use. Alternatively add the option to export 'all 'or 'current view'.
RE: export excel
Not solved in Power BI Desktop.
RE: export excel
In the visualizations, when I go to export data, the only option I get is .csv. I do not get the option of Excel.

RE: export excel
This is realy not user frendly.
RE: export excel
Here is someone lazy. Missing basic functionality.
RE: export excel
The problem is that this "..." (ellipsis) button is *not visible* unless you know the where it is on the screen and happen to hover over it.
This should be visible *all the time*. Every time I run Power BI (which typically is only quarterly) I have to sit and try to remember where that darn "Export" option is hidden! This is a common task so why make it so difficult to find?
RE: export excel
need a option to export data from powerBI Report(Web publish version)
RE: export excel
Without this feature this tool will not be adapted fully
