RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
Now that the ribbon preview has been introduced, this would be a much needed feature to make it more similar in function to Office.
RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
Any update on this? It's been over 3 years.

PBI Team: Are there any plans to add this option?
RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
This has to be an oversight rather than something planned!

Put this on the KanBan board or what ever sends work to the dev team.
This is a no-brainer like the lack of a common inbox with Win10 Outlook.
RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
Yes, please add a Close button. Why is there no Close button? Seems silly.
RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
I agree. No Close option is against most of what is acceptable Windows GUI.
RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
I have to concur with other feedback. Just starting to learn Power BI Desktop. Former Excel power user and intermediate experience with Cognos, MicroStrategy, and Tableau. I arrived at this site while Googling how to close in Power BI. All I want to do is close my current work and start something new. Assumed there had to be an easier way than closing the application and restarting. Apparently that's not the case.
RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
I too cant believe this. cmon microsoft, no close option - really???
RE: Add Close option to File Menu in PowerBI Desktop
It's contradictory to the effeciencies of PowerBI not to have "Close" available. While it is possible to save some time by opening or starting a new file before closing the current one, that is so off the way people, or MS_Office applications work.
"I'm done with File A so I will put it away by saving and closing it before I move on to File B. This means I'll wait for the application to shut down so I can open it up again." Really? WTF.
