Whenever I see an aggregated metric (e.g., $483,572 in sales) - in, say, a column in a chart or a cell in a matrix - I should be able not only to drill down to a next level of detail, but to "drill to details" - all the way down to the individual rows of data (e.g., the individual sales orders) that make up that value.

Thanks for all the feedback. We just released the April version of Power BI desktop, including new drill functionality. You can drill into a particular column in a chart and see the records behind that part of the visual. This feature is extremely important for my company as well. The usability of this product will increase 10 folds if this feature is available.

I think it would be wise to tie this to another existing idea to permit drill-downs to different visual types:

More generally, changing the functionality of drill-downs such that they could be a "stack" of visuals created by the user, and not built-in functionality on a single visual type.

Well, it is 1,5y since this topic -is under the review. Perhaps it is a high time to address that, huh? This feature could save a lot of time of many business users. Please, speed up!

Power BI will blow the socks off my lot but I cannot show it to them without this functionality. At the end of pretty much every drill down they need to see either every row or the top ten.

A time saving business feature. Often I need to investigate the details that makes up the aggregate metrics to answer manager's business questions. The ability to drill directly into a subset of row data will allow me to important the subset data into another cube for data exploration and data verification.

drill down on matrix please. Why does power view have it but not power bi?

Would like to have this feature implemented please. I have received several queries from my customers on this feature.

The same goes for my customers who are interested in using Power BI. As long as there is no drill down possibility to detail level they will not use it.
