KPI Red/Yellow/Green Indicators were available in Power Pivot. With the new Power BI Desktop this feature is not available anymore. If you import from PP to the Desktop it converts the RYG Indicator Dots to a number. Will the Red/Yellow/Green Indicators be added back to PowerBI Desktop? If so When?

It's very exciting to be able to close this idea! With the July 2019 release of Power BI Desktop you can now create icon sets that show status indicators, in fact a whole range of icons, in your table and matrix visuals. You can read more in Amanda's blog post here: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-2019-feature-summary/#iconSets For those of you who want to have the KPI definition stored in the model itself, please vote on this idea for us to track interest there: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200/suggestions/38181139 Thanks for engaging with the ideas forum and helping us build the product you need!

Is there any update? The request is already more than two years old...

This is a seemingly small but actually very important feature. Senior management are used to seeing these indicators on all of their reports (not least because Excel produces these very nicely). As other users have mentioned, improved conditional formatting based on text values would allow us to achieve the same result.

This is an obvious feature that already should be there. Please add and keep us happy.

Been trying to work out how to do RAG Indicators, would be good if they aren't just limited to tables so can be used in cards or other visuals

Voting YES to get this feature added! Clearly there's a ton of interest. I truly can't believe it's not already available.

Kim, when you do add KPI design to Power BI, please consider these suggestions in my blog post: https://sqlserverbi.blog/2018/03/28/how-to-add-kpi-indicators-to-a-table-in-power-bi
The KPI designer in SSDT for SSAS Tabular & Power Pivot meets 95% of the need for intermediate level users but having the ability to define measure-like DAX script for each element value (like SSAS MD) for advanced users would carry this feature across the finish line.
