Direct Query for SharePoint List

With large volume of data in SharePoint List, it takes forever for a scheduled/on-demand refresh as it refreshes everything from scratch. It would be nice to support direct query (live query) against SPO List. Customer is expecting to see real-time dashboard change when item is updated in SPO list.

As SharePoint is our global platform, allowing direct query would open up a lot of possibilities for us

Any way to get this idea promoted? Surely having 'live' data updates from a SP list would be a really useful reporting dashboard etc.

Built a PowerApp to allow users to enter report annotations into a Sharepoint list - fantastic combination of tools that will really help my client.

However, unless we can direct query Sharepoint users must wait until a refresh to be able to see their comments - this is inefficient and makes the feature quite weak. Please implement it!
