Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

We are excited to announce that this shipped in our November update of PBI Desktop: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste For those asking, it will be included in the next version of Power BI Desktop for Report Server as well.

RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's
Acknowledge the difficulty of the general solution. Even a limited version of this feature (say between reports having the same data model, not necessarily the same data) would make many lives easier. Thanks!

RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's
This would help in the effort of switching from import to live connection as well. Seems like a two-for-one!

Would be good that like you can import a visual that you be able to export a visual. With any settings applied from current view.

I voted but based on the Under Review note, This seems like it would require a re-design of the underlying powerbi file structure plus any dependent services and code. This might be the deal breaker for me when your competitors have this functionality.

Please add this feature
RE: Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's
This is an essential feature. I will already be happy if I can copy paste non-data related visuals (images, text, etc.) from on pbix to another. I'm already doing a lot with templates, but sometimes these don't cut it and I have to start from scratch. Would be nice if I could copy/paste the basic branding, so I only have to worry about the data and visuals...
