RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop
VBA in Power BI would help us in developing, debugging and analysis enormously. For many, having the ability to examine and process result on reports would shorten and possibly simplify otherwise comples statements.
RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop
Yes, VBA would be great!
RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop
Yes, I too want to raise the slogan with pro-VBA users. I want VBA in Power BI
RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop
Asked Amanda and Adam about this in a Q&A at the Power BI conference in Dallas, sounds like this is a no-go.
RE: VBA for Power BI Desktop
It is interesting that VBA has retained strong support from the user community despite talks of it being deprecated. The reason is that VBA provides amazing functionality and yet is easy to get started with (e.g. VBA.Msgbox). Built into PowerBI and the potential application would be exponential - ad-hoc data cleansing (based on rules), analytics, visualisation > publication.

vba made excel so powerful, the same for powerbi would be gold. but more than just vba I think whats missing is easier automation in powerbi without having to be a web developer and know javascript. VBA was easy to write and audit. Javascript def isnt for non web developers.
