    All of the current Ideas that mention SAP BusinessObjects BI Universe integration are marked as completed as this feature was offered pre June/July release. This is nearly a critical requirement for adoption in my organization.

    I had previously heard that this was removed due to licencing restrictions, can we get an official response on that? Is there any possibility of this being re-integrated?

    Unfortunately, the Business Objects connector was removed due to a number of reasons.

    Why was this connector dropped out of the current Power BI architectures... it used to be a feature?

    I think you have to contact SAP / BO for this first.
    they have to support MDX or DAX query languages first.
    so they have to implement an OLEDB for OLAP driver for example.
    because the BO system is proprietary and do not use any standard we can see in other products (like SAP HANA, Hyperion, SSAS....)

    '@Jerome, not quite true. (1) SAP BO has a web API that MS could talk to, and (2) MS already had a BO universe integration in the past, with Power Query or Power Pivot, I forget. It was removed in Office 2016.

    The only thing that is keeping us away from using Power BI is the connectivity with BO Universe. We are using BO as our reporting tool and really want to introduce Power BI as our dashboard tool.

    Definitely needed this option, otherwise have to do all of the ETL again and maintain two versions, which is not a viable solution
