I can copy the visual either as image or data table and paste it in other applications.

March 2022 Update: We are looking into this

We recently released the ability to export data from tiles and visuals to a CSV file. This may work for y'all as a workaround until we add the ability to directly copy and paste the visual or data. You can read more about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerbi/archive/2016/01/06/power-bi-service-update-0106.aspx#exportTile. Be sure to let us know what you think about the feature!

RE: Copy/paste the data behind the visual in Power BI to other applications

A user needs to be able copy the content and paste to excel from a table or matrix report, At least in a “flat” excel sheet without the underlying data. As a matter of fact the “flat” excel sheet is preferable as we do not necessarily want users access to al details. At a very minimum these reports should open up in excel or pdf format.

This will also enable printing and sharing of such a report.

Please let us know if this is coming as without that we probably need to use a different reporting tool

This is actually a pretty critical thing. How much use is a matrix of data you've found, if you cannot copy-paste it to another application? (Example: after finding the right people from a huge dataset, I need to be able to copy-paste their email addresses to Outlook, for example). Because if you find your business based on the info, you also want to target them right away, right? :-)
Plain text results in a flat table would be awesome.

RE: Copy/paste the data behind the visual in Power BI to other applications

Up until last week, we were able to copy and paste the results that were displayed in a table in Q&A. This is no longer possible, and is causing issues for our clients in order to be able to achieve what they need. Can we please have this functionality returned, or an alternative provided. Thanks

As long as you would like to embed a visualization you can use snipping tool for that. This feature should really be about exporting dashboard contents to excel.

Our users have also requested the ability to copy and paste out of power bi. The grids being able to be copied into Excel would be awesome.
