Enable selection of the default scroll position for the x-axis on a chart. For example, on a line chart with dates as the x-axis, when not all of the data can display in the view at once, the scroll defaults to the beginning/left end of the x-axis and the most recent dates are at the far end causing the end user to always have to scroll to see the most recent data. If you could set the visual to default to the right end, then the user would only have to scroll if they wanted to see more history.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

why its takes so long time to implement this simple feature.Do we have a reason for not getting promoted to get this Critical enhancement to make it available asap.we talk PowerBi can handle big data stuffs and all but when it comes to presenting the big data in a graph, do we need to ask users to keep scrolling till you reach one end to another.?

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

In mobile view, line charts default to showing the leftmost, earliest data on the x-axis. The more meaningful data to most is the recent data on the graph. Users have to scroll right each time to see most recent data. Could the default be set thus for date/time driven x-axes? Or allow a default setting.
Also agreeing with another idea that if you have multiple line charts, they should scroll as a group.
Another good idea out here that I upvoted is the ability for mobile views to condense the x-axis for a better fit.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

If you have a column chart with many time-points on the x-axis then a scroll bar appears on the bottom of the visual. Normally you order your x-axis in a way that the most recent dates appear to the right (at least in countries where you use to write from left to right). If you want to see the most recent dates, you always need to scroll to the right. (Alternatively, reorder, so that the most recent dates are on the left. However, this is counter-intuitive in many regions.) It would be great if you could configure the scroll bar in a way that it is nestled either to the left or to the right end of the x-axis.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

Make optional the starting position of the scroll bar for a line chart so that when the visual is first viewed the user sees the data at the far right.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

when I have large charts with many months
the chart starts its scrolling from the left, I want to align it on the right by default.
so based on my most recent month not the oldest.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

With date series charts that don't entirely fit within the visual frame the scroll bar appears but the chart begins at the earliest date.It would be fantastic to have the option to start the chart from the right / most recent date insteadScreenshot here:https://twitter.com/wynhopkins/status/1552574617730314241?s=20&t=_aKEb8Q_dxWHhMxuAOrvQQ

This will become more and more important as Power BI is used for different types of dashboard

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

I would consider this feature critical, BI competitors implemented this a long time ago.

RE: Set default x axis scrolling position

This is a really large missing feature. Not just for charts, but for tables and matrixes as well. My audience are going to be focused on the most recent month's data, but need to be able to scroll back. To address what you might be thinking - no, sorting descending and reversing the order is fundamentally inacceptable.
